Bio Whipple  lopez

Born in Havana, Cuba, Whipple comes from a musical background where first cousins included Cuban guitarist Servando Diaz part of the Trio Servando Diaz and Mandrake el Mago, (Guido Rivera) Cuban magician and musician both popular in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.

Whipple started his music career at age seven when he began study of the accordion. From there, Whipple formally and independently studied traditional and modern music theory, jazz piano with Skip Green, classical piano with Georgia Mangos , guitar, and mandolin.  Whipple is proficient in piano, keyboards, guitar, mandolin, ukulele and charango.

Residing in The City of Angels, Whipple has had his music featured in independent films, TV and off-Broadway musicals. Whipple also writes and produces music for the Chicago-based tropical rock band Peach’s Beach Party and other artists.

Whipple’s music includes vocal and instrumental music for use in commercial television, jingles, musicals, documentaries, and cues.   His styles include jazz, latin, tropical rock , contemporary , cinematic, orchestral and epic music

Whipple performs in various music ensembles and groups including a Bayati ensemble, tropical rock band and as a solo jazz pianist

Whipple wrote Dream Little Princess for his daughter realizing that the little girl will grow up but cherishing the time they have together.

Dream Little Princess features a unique arrangement with piano, vibes, orchestra, guitar, bass and drums.
